The legal limit in England and Wales is:
- 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or
- 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood; or
- 107 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine
The legal limit in Scotland is:
- 22 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or
- 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood; or
- 67 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine
The Scottish drink drive limit was lowered on 5th December 2014. Previously Scotland had the same legal limit as England and Wales. Scotland lowered the legal limit to help save lives and make Scotland’s roads safer.
